After I posted the last time, I was all depressed because it was like everything was going wrong. Now it's barely a week later and things have turned around for us.
To start, after 3 years of my husband suffering from a chronic illness that no one seems to be able to identify, we're finally getting somewhere. We went in Friday for an appointment with his specialist. I wasn't expecting much from the appointment since the guy has been talking about doing something for a couple years now, but never following through. I'd already made up my mind to ask him to refer us to a different specialist. But he surprised me. He scheduled my husband for a test next Friday and gave him a new medicine to try. The medicine is working already. If the test Friday shows nothing (which I suspect since the last one didn't show anything), he's sending us across the state to Duke University Medical Center (one of the top ten best hospital in the US).
Then after we got home from the appointment, I checked the bank and realized our tax stimulus had came in. I had been putting off writing out the bills because I was afraid that after I paid the bills, there wouldn't be anything left over for us to move. But I sat down to figure up the bills and realized that between the stimulus and my husband's check for the week, I could pay every single bill for the month. That means his next 3 checks can go for our move. Between his checks and him selling his old truck, we should not only have enough money to move, but have enough enough to pay for my CNA class and cover the extra rent until I start working again (because tourist season is about to start, another place similar to what we have now is going to cost $200-500 more a month). So barring some unforeseen event, we'll definitely be able to move out of this place by the end of the month. I can't wait to tell the landlords to go fuck themselves.
Then I called my baby sister, the one that just got married in October. She told me she's pregnant. As you'll recall from my earlier posts, I was concerned about her marriage since she wanted several and her husband was pretty adamant that he didn't want any. He did a complete turnaround and is thrilled. They've asked me to be her coach. She hasn't been to the doctor to find out the due date yet (going tomorrow), but going by the dates she gave me, she's due in late December/early January.
I do have to admit I'm a bit jealous. We've been trying for a second baby since last July with no luck and just made the decision this weekend to take some time off from trying. I hated to quit trying, but right now really isn't the best time for us. So we've decided that I'll go back on the pill for at least a couple months. Hopefully, that will give us some time to get settled in our new place, get my husband healthier and my hormones straightened out (95 day cycles make it pretty difficult to get pregnant)..
